This Hotel Was One Of The More Substantial Buildings On Main Street In Rat Portage. It Was Constructed In 1891 At A Cost Of $10,000. The Restaurant Featured Excellent Cuisine Plus A Complete Selection Of Imported Wines And Liquors. 18540 A0588 Kenora Buildings Collection     Entrance To Municipal Office, East St. Paul, Mb, In 1900, From A Sketch By Dave Reid. In 1900 Mr. W. Gorham Built This Home At 2051 Roseneath Avenue. It Was Located On Bird'S Hill Road Where The Old Municipal Office Now Stands. He Built A General Store Beside The House And When He Sold The Store He Moved The House To Its Present Site. He Added To It To Provide For The Municipal Office When He Became Secretary Treasurer In 1911. For More Than 40 Years The Office Was Held In His Home  Buildings ▪ Offices 1900

The Largest Gasoline Launch Built By The Company Was The "Mini-Wa-Wa In" 1930. The Old Walls, Still Intact Were Raised 4 Feet, And The Building Was Lengthened From 75 Feet To 105 Feet. The Building Opened In 1895 By The Order Of The Faithful Companions Of Jesus As A Boarding School For Girls Known As St. Joseph'S Academy. Students Came From Fort William (Thunder Bay), Winnipeg, Regina, Prince Albert, Battleford, And Rat Portage (Later Called Kenora). Lady Aberdeen Was Entertained At St. Joseph'S Academy In Its Opening Year. The Academy Closed In 1902. Then In February 1903 The Building Re-Opened As St. Joseph'S Hospital, Operated By The Order Of The Sisters Of Providence Of Montreal.
