It Was Located On Bird'S Hill Road Where The Old Municipal Office Now Stands. He Built A General Store Beside The House And When He Sold The Store He Moved The House To Its Present Site. The Building Opened In 1895 By The Order Of The Faithful Companions Of Jesus As A Boarding School For Girls Known As St. Joseph'S Academy. Students Came From Fort William (Thunder Bay), Winnipeg, Regina, Prince Albert, Battleford, And Rat Portage (Later Called Kenora). Lady Aberdeen Was Entertained At St. Joseph'S Academy In Its Opening Year. The Academy Closed In 1902.
